I have been working within PROGRESS Lab since 2017. I’ve earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University, before joining the doctoral program in health psychology at VCU the following Fall semester. My primary research focus is on sexual violence prevention, understanding and dispelling myths about rape, reduction of human/sex trafficking, and reducing experiences of secondary victimization (vicitm blaming) often faced by survivors. My focus also includes understanding the different lived experiences of those who exist at the intersection of marginalized racial, gender, SES, as well as additional social identities. My broader research interests also include examining the impact of these biases toward social identities (culture, race, gender) on health, policy, and inequity.
